"The fundamental tasks of religious education are
to proclaim Christ's message, to participate in efforts to
develop community, to lead people to worship and
prayer, and to motivate the community of believers to
serve others" (National Catechetical Directory).

Religious education is concerned with nurturing a
mature faith in each member of the community
through instruction, formation, liturgy, and service.

The parish has the responsibility of providing for each
of its members a continuing, life-long religious educa-
tion that is consistent with diocesan guidelines and the
teaching of the Universal Church.

Religious Education ministries include the Rites of
Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and of Children
(RCIC), Catechetical Ministry, Sacramental Preparation
Teams, Spiritual Life Committee, Adult Education,
Family Life, and Children's Liturgy of the Word.
