POST FUNERAL BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

This ministry was formed to help the newly
bereaved in the immediate months and
longer after the loss of their loved one.  It
seeks to guide them in handling grief and
the vast number of life-style problems that
frequently arise in one's life following such
a loss. Visits to the bereaved offer other
assistance as needed. Speakers are invited
to help give guidance in ways to handle
many of these new problems.

Essentially our ministry consists of
members who will take a couple of minutes
to call a bereaved family and hopefully
provide a few words of encouragement. This
would be followed up with periodic calls. In
addition, the ministry would periodically
visit the bereaved if they so desire.

Volunteers are needed to fulfill this
heartwarming mission and extend an arm of
the Lord during times of emptiness.
Commitments are minimal. Commit to just a
few minutes per week for the telephone
ministry. Volunteers could also commit to
participate a few hours monthly in the home
visitation program or help offer annual
informal meetings with a skilled
bereavement counselor.
