MINUTES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
January 6, 2009

1.         Meeting called to order by Anita Fenton
Father Foley opened the meeting with a prayer followed by the
committee reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Minutes were approved and
the Mission Statement was read by all.
Present: Father Foley, Deacon Joe, Anita Fenton, Vincent Matulaitis,
Janet Rauktis, Paul Franco, Mike Chase, Mary Sullivan, and Kathy
Johnson
2.        Financial Report:  Father Foley stated that we were $10,571
below the needed weekly income before this past weekend, and
now we are only down $412. There are no major expenses for the
parish in the near future.
3.        Temporal Administrator: Deacon Joe  The emergency lighting
system has been completely replaced in the church, including the
main box and the wires. During the storm it was discovered that
there are no emergency lights in the church hall. An electrician will
be coming this week to look at the downstairs system. The boilers
are working ok at this time so we are not currently looking to
replace them. The thermostats were inspected, some work some
don’t. We will look into fixing/replacing the broken ones. There have
been many complaints about dirty tissues and food being left in the
pews. Parishioners need to take responsibility for the church and
pick up after themselves when leaving the church.
4.        Old Business: The diocese is working on reconfiguring
churches in Fitchburg, so the Worcester closings have been put on
hold, but they will still be happening. The Knights continue to work
on the Parish booklet. They are waiting for the drawing of Christ the
King Church to put on the front cover. Anita will get it to Deacon Joe
through Mindy. Grocery cards continue to be sold after all masses.
There are some families who buy regularly and it would be nice for
more families to join in the fight against homelessness. If anyone
has any questions about the program they can stop and talk to the
person selling the cards in the foyer.

5.        New Business: Father is happy to report that many new
families are registering in the parish
