MINUTES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
January 8, 2008
1.        Meeting called to order by Anita Fenton
2.        Father Foley opened the meeting with a prayer and
members joined him in the Lord’s Prayer. Minutes were
approved from the last meeting, and then members read the
Mission Statement.
3.        Present: Father Foley, Anita Fenton, Paul Franco, Chris
McSherry, Kathy Cushing, Deacon Joe, Vincent Matulaitis,
Mary Sullivan, Mike Chase, Mark Brennan, and Kathy Johnson
4.        Financial Report: We are in good shape. Donations were
up over the holidays and we have received gifts for different
purposes.
5.        Additional Business The Sacramental/ Spiritual
Questionnaires from all parishes have not been turned in to
the Planning Board.
6.        Temporal Administrator: The current custodian broke his
leg on New Year’s Day. Father states that he plans on hiring
someone to work 10-12 hours per week to keep the buildings
clean. A complete job description will be written up. Chris
asked if there could be a checklist for groups that use the
church spaces to refer to when leaving the building to ensure
everything that should be clean is cleaned. Deacon Joe will
work with all the groups to make clear the expectations. Most
groups do clean up after themselves.
The front doors really need to be replaced. It will cost about
$14,000 to replace them. Father suggested having a fundraiser
in the spring to replace all the front doors to get a tighter seal
to make them more energy efficient.
Students from the Confirmation class and another young man
have been volunteering their time cleaning around the church.
There are some other things that need to be done, including
painting and a cost analysis for replacing the boilers.
The Decorating Committee deserves a big “thank you”  for a
wonderful job with the Christmas
decorating.
7.        Old Business: New parish council members are needed.
Also, a representative from each of the ministries should
attend the meetings which are usually held on the first
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
8.        New Business There will be a Dinner sponsored by the
Knights and other ministries in the church. Rob Campbell will
be cooking an Italian dinner and there will be a D.J. for music
and dancing. Tickets are $8 for an individual and $15 for a
couple. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. It is always
a good time. The hours are 7-11 p.m. on January 26th.  The
Knights will be selling tickets, setting up, and breaking down
the hall.

interested in getting together information to publish a new
booklet outlining the ministries available in the parish. All
organizations are asked to look at the website christthekingma.
org, and e-mail the site administrator with any corrections.
Each organization should e-mail the site administrator even if
there are no corrections so we can be sure every group ahs
had a chance to update their information before publication.
Thank you in advance for your attention.

The meeting was concluded with a prayer led by Deacon Joe
followed by the recitation of the Hail Mary.  The next meeting
will be February 5th at 7:30 p.m. All parish organizations
