Notes were approved from last month after corrections noted

Old Business

·         75th Jubilee committee meeting will be scheduled. A notice will
be put in the bulletin with the date of the meeting and invitation to
parishioners to join the committee.

·         Parish Ministries Brochure-Father will e-mail the brochure to
Kathy who will then e-mail it to all members. All members will read the
bulletin and e-mail any changes to all members so all can be ready to
discuss changes at the next meeting.

·         Parish Magnets- Magnets were distributed and there are more
available for new parishioners. Some will also be put in the vestibule of
the church.

·         Septemberfest- It was a beautiful day with pony rides, games and
a clown for t he children. The Boy Scouts and CYC helped with set-up,
but there wasn’t enough help at the end of the day. The Council
discussed ways to increase attendance. Would Saturday be better
than Sunday? Parishioners are encouraged to share their opinion with
parish council members.

·         Share our Blessings – A merged letter is out getting printed now,
and will be sent out in the middle of October. The mailing will be
followed by a talk during Mass by Fr. Millott one weekend and by a
parishioner another weekend.

·         Paschal Candle – will be moved tomorrow

·         Grocery Cards- More help is needed to sell grocery cards. There
are times when Masses are difficult to cover with the current
volunteers. If anyone is interested in helping, they should call Kathy at
508-795-1143 or e-mail kathjohn82@aol.com.

Temporal Administrator

·         Boilers were turned on this morning and will shut off if the
temperature rises

·         Religious Education children need to be picked up in the church
hall or in the church. No child will leave the church by themselves for
safety reasons.

·          A mature gentleman is requested to change the light bulbs in the
church.

New Business

·         A head count will be conducted during the weekend Masses of
October 16th and 17th. A parishioner will follow the collectors during
Mass with a clicker.

·         Father Millott’s and Father Riley’s names need to be added to the
plaque in the church. Janet will check to see if Father Mazzone’s name
is there and will contact Guertin’s to get the necessary names.

Organizations

Knight of Columbus

·         There will be a new member drive on November 6th and 7th. The
Knights are planning a trip to LaSallette Shrine for parish families. The
cost of the bus is $325 for a school bus and $900-1000 for a
comfortable bus. The planned date is December 4th. They will be
leaving the parish parking lot at 3:30 to give enough time to get there
for the turning on of the lights at 5:00.

·         They have scheduled their member party for December 11th in
the Johnson Room.

·         Coffee and… after Mass was a big success. They will buy more
donuts for the next time. It was suggested that a sign be put in the
foyer to remind people to stop in.

Cub Scouts

·         The Scouts will set up the hall for the Senior Luncheon the night
before.  The boys enjoy helping.

Social Committee

·         Italian Night will be held on November 13th following the 4:00
Mass.

·         CYC members will serve at the Senior Luncheon and Italian Night.

Women’s Guild

·         Living Rosary will be October 20th at 6:15. It is a lovely
experience and the ladies are hoping for enough people to have each
bead prayed by a different person. Men, women and children are
encouraged to attend. Dave will discuss it at the next Knight’s meeting.

·         Senior Luncheon is on October 30th at 12 noon. All seniors are
invited.

·         Evening of Recollection will be held on November 30th at 6 pm.
There will be a Mass followed by a light dinner and a talk by Fr. Jack.

·         Many baby bottles were distributed and returns should be made
during the first weekend of November.

CYC

·         An e-mail was sent to Fr. Millott about kids helping seniors with
yard work, errands, etc. It was asked who the CYC contact person is.
Last year there was a CYC representative at each meeting. A couple
years age, there was also a student representative. Janet will contact
Dick Freijet about representatives attending the parish council
meetings. St. Luke’s needs the name of a contact person as well.
