MINUTES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
                           March 6, 2007

1.        Meeting called to order by Anita Fenton

2.        Father Foley opened the meeting with a prayer and
members joined him in the Lord’s Prayer. Minutes were
approved, and members then read the Mission Statement.

3.        Present: Father Foley, Father Riley, Vincent Matulaitis,
Anita Fenton, Janet Rauktis, Russ LeMay, Anne Ratte, Paul
Franco, and Kathy Johnson

4.        Financial Report: The amount needed to support the
parish has been $8800 for awhile, but was listed in the
bulletin as $8100 because it was felt that it would be
discouraging to parishioners to be far behind the stated goal.
With the increase in giving, it is a realistic goal, and therefore
stated correctly in the bulletin. Everyone has been generous
and we will be looking at some needed projects in the future.
All loans have been repaid and the parish is in good shape.
The finance committee will be meeting in the next couple of
weeks and we will be informed of the parish’s finance after
the meeting.

5.        Additional Business: Vinnie has agreed to chair the
“Partners in Charity” campaign again this year.  The theme is
Francis of Assisi. There is a 6-minute DVD available to show
during masses. Father Foley will preview the DVD and decide
if it would be beneficial to show. Christ the King’s goal this
year is $93,000, up a bit from last year, but still doable. The
Diocesan Stewardship Conference will be held at Mt. Carmel
on Tuesday, May 15th. Fathers Foley and Riley will be
attending, as will Deacon Joe. If any parishioner would like to
attend, see Father Foley ASAP. Christ the King will be
hosting a meeting of priests with the bishop on March 27th.
There is a Deanery Penance Service on March 25th at OLA at
2:30. There are still some openings in the Adult Faith
Formation group led by Kathy Cushing on Thursday
mornings. Christ the King is sending 15-16 men to the Men’s
Conference on March 24th.The parish bought ten tickets to
give to parishioners. The LaSallette mission will send a priest
to talk at masses, possibly on June 2-3 or 9-10.

6.        Temporal Administrator: Deacon Joe has sent groups
the rules of use for the parish facilities. There will be a
meeting in June to schedule any planned activities for the
year. Every organization should send a representative.

7.        Old Business: New parish council members are
needed. Also, a representative from each of the ministries
should attend the meetings which are usually held on the
first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

8.        New Business: The Housing Alliance is looking for
participants in a fundraising activity. The Alliance would buy
grocery store gift cards at a 5% reduction in price and sell
them for face value. The 5% would be kept by the Alliance to
help with housing in Worcester County. Logistics are still
being worked out, but our parish may participate in this
program to assist the working poor with housing needs.
There is no information about on-line payment for
parishioners’ weekly donation options at this time. There is
possibly a loose wire in the sound system in the church. The
speakers behind the priest and in the cry room fade at times.

Easter flowers will be sold after all masses on Palm Sunday.
The CYC has purchased 100 chairs for use in the church hall.
There was a good turnout at the semi-formal.

school on the day of a scheduled meeting, the meeting will
be cancelled. All parish organizations should send a
representative to the meeting.
