Ministry Reports

CYC Stephanie and Evan
Evan is the treasurer of the CYC. They are going on a retreat December 9th-11th. This coming weekend
they will be holding a dance on Saturday from 7-10 pm. They will be moving lumberto helpPernet Family
Services build a hockey rink at Crompton Park. There is a possibility that the CYC members will be
mentoring kids at Pernet. Christmas flower sales will be held after all Masses on the first weekend in
December to help pay for the retreat. A can collection is held monthly to help stock the St. Vincent de
Paul pantry. Coffee and donuts will be served after the 11:00 Thanksgiving Mass. There will be a note
on the door asking people who bring canned goods to the Thanksgiving Mass to hold it until the
offertory. Food collected goes to needy parishioners first and then to Pernet and the Sisters at St.
Bernard’s. Deacon Joe asked the CYC members and adults to check the expiration dates on all donated
food. He then complimented the CYC for leaving the kitchen “spectacularly clean” after they used it.
Dave
Dave is the assistant coach for the CYC basketball team and Paul Franco is the coach. Paul will meet
with Dave and Paul to give them a $600 check for the basketball team.
Parish Appreciation Janet
Looking for ideas improve the Parish Appreciation Dinner. In the past it has been held in the hall with
beef or turkey, vegetables, and coffee. In the past 500 people attended, but he numbers have dwindled
over time. What would be the best time to increase participation?

Family NightPaul
No news yet

Cub Scouts Karen
The boys presented a program for the parish to go along with the 75th Jubilee. The boys sang patriotic
songs, did crafts, and had music. Only about seven parishioners attended, including two little children.
Although it was a fun time, better planning will be done for next time to increase participation. The
Scouts will be re-chartering tomorrow. There are 72 active Scouts and 10 non-active. The dens are very
busy with great activities with wonderful parents and volunteers.

Boy Scouts Mark
Scouts had a bottle drive at the Post instead of at the church. The Post donated some bottles and cans
to the drive. The troop will repair the sign out front. The broken pipe will be removed and a new pipe
will be installed.

St. Vincent de Paul Vinny
Donated 25 $10 grocery cards to Pernet

Knights of Columbus Deacon Joe
Mass for deceased members’ wives will be Saturday night at the 4:00 Mass. The Knights are selling

Coats for Kids raised $2000 used to buy 300-325 coats distributed mostly in the southern part of the
county.

Grocery Cards Kathy
Parishioners are being very supportive of the grocery card program. We have been selling over $1000
worth of cards every weekend.

The next meeting is January 3rd after Mass at 6:30.

Father Lizewski ended the meeting with a prayer and a blessing followed by the recitation of the Hail
Mary.

New members are welcome and encouraged to attend the next parish council meeting.
