MINUTES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
October 4, 2005
1. Meeting was called to order by Anita Fenton.
2. Father Foley opened the meeting with a blessing and members joined him in
the Lord's prayer. He then led the members in the reading of the Mission
Statement.
3. Present: Father Foley, Deacon Joe, Anita Fenton, Jack Staples, Mary
Sullivan, Carol Bertel, Paul Franco, Mary Haverty, and Kathy Johnson.
4. Pastor's Report: Financial report has been completed and will be
published for parishioners. The budget is based on offertory collections, but
the parish receives support from other contributions. DEF Diocesan
Expansion Fund) is money owed to the diocese for bills paid for the entire
diocese such as boiler insurance. Christ the King has no outstanding bills.
The parish pays approximately $9000 a month to the DBF. Allied Roofing will
fix the foyer roof this Monday. New mass books will be here in December. The
cost is $12,000,
including books for the choir and musicians, and is payable over three years.
We are currently paying $3,000 for the paper missalettes. Envelopes will be
sent to parishioners asking for donations to help pay for the new books.
Books cost $20 and for $30 a label will be placed in the front of the book as a
"in memory of nameplate.
The Eucharistic Conference will be held on October 28th and 29th. There will
be no 4:OOPM mass anywhere in the diocese to free people to attend the mass
at the DCU Center. If anyone would like to attend but the cost is prohibitive,
see Father Foley. There is a mass at St. Paul's on Friday evening followed by
an all night adoration. On Saturday there will be a mass in the morning
followed by a procession to the DCU Center.
5. Old Business: The Parish Council needs a representative from all
ministries to attend the monthly meeting. Any other parishioner interested in
joining the Parish Council should see Father Foley.
6. New Business: More recipes are needed for the online cookbook. Father
recommended Anita put the recipes from the old cookbook online and all
agreed it was a good idea.
7. Ministry Reports:
Knights of Columbus (Deacon Joe): All the lights are working. The crucifix
in the front of the church will not be lit up at night because of the possibility of

come up. The Knights have also purchased a TV, VCR, and a DVD player for
CCD classes. The cleanup is scheduled for November 19th. The
Boy and Girl Scout Troops will participate. All parishioners are welcome.
Religious Education (Carol Bertel); CCD classes have started with a lot of
