prayer/psalm and in reciting the Mission Statement.
Old Business
• 75th Jubilee Committee meeting will be this coming Saturday at 10:30. The Hogan
Center is not available for the celebration later in the year. Bishop Rueger has agreed to
say Mass on the 6th. The CYC representatives were asked if they would be able to help
with activities for the celebration, but they said it might be difficult to commit to too much
because they will be busy with the play. They said they would be able to help with the
setup on the 6th and check with CYC members to see if anyone will be available to help
during the celebration.
• Parish Ministries Brochure-Everyone will bring their copy to the next meeting with
any corrections.
Temporal Administrator
• Two new tables have been purchased for the foyer.
• Everything should be put away after use in the foyer and church hall
• All thermostats except the ones on and behind the altar have been replaced with a
lock box. Deacon Joe is working on getting everything regulated.
• Will call the insurance company again about the ceiling of the church. The asbestos
report will be given to the insurance company and it is hopeful to get the work
completed by Lent. There are currently two bids, but it is difficult to get the real cost until
the work begins and all the issues are uncovered.
Organizations
Knights of Columbus
• Christian Foundation for Children is a series of packets of real children who have
needs. It costs $30 per year to sponsor a child. Individuals and families are needed to
make connections with the children through sponsorship.
• Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus donated 300 coats for youths. Some
were sent to Mt. Carmel, some were given to the nuns, and some went to the Interfaith
Hospitality Network.
Social Committee
• The Appreciation Banquet will be held on January 22nd. Postcard invitations have
been sent out to volunteers and a notice will be put in the bulletin for those not on an
established volunteer list. Rob and Janet will do all the work for the banquet.
Background music is a possibility.
CYC
• The weather prevented the flower sale from being as successful in the past. The
CYC will thank the parishioners who supported the sale through Mindy.
• The retreat will be Jan. 21-23. They are having a difficult time finding enough adult
chaperones who have been through the CORI process. They need two men and two
women for each night.
• An invitation is extended to all parishioners to become involved with the show this
year. Mr. Lauring will be missed, as he is unable to help with the sets this year, which he
has done for many years. Help is needed with the sets, costumes and other play related
items. Anyone willing to help has to be CORIed. The show will be April 29th and 30th. A
notice asking for help will be put in the bulletin as soon as possible.
• The Souper Bowl of Caring will be held February 5th and 6th. The amount collected
is reported to the national organization but all funds stay local.
St. Vincent de Paul
• Twenty gift cards were given to Pernet
• Six to eight families in the parish received a holiday food basket
Grocery Cards
• Sales are going better as more parishioners become involved. Kathy will ask Mindy
about putting the weekly totals in the bulletin.
