MINUTES PARISH COUNCIL MEETING  PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
November 13, 2007
1.        Meeting called to order by Anita Fenton

2.        Father Foley opened the meeting with a prayer and members read
the Mission Statement. Minutes were approved from the last meeting.

3.        Present: Father Foley, Anita Fenton, Paul Franco, Celeste Lionette,
Mark Brennan, Vinny Matulaitis, and Kathy Johnson

4.        Financial Report: We ended the fiscal year in the black by a few
hundred dollars. There were some unforeseen expenses, but we were
able to pay for everything we needed. We may need to have a fundraiser
to finance upcoming capital expenses. Miscellaneous gifts have been
very helpful when figuring final totals. Weekly donations have been down
for the first five weeks of the new fiscal year. The financial report has
been given at all masses and parishioners have been asked to continue
giving on a weekly basis to ensure we have the funds needed to support
the church.
5.        Additional Business  We will have visitors from the Pastoral
Planning Board next weekend. They will be attending masses and
assessing the life of the parish. They have a checklist to complete and will
join our December Parish Council meeting. All ministries should send a
representative to this meeting. The bishop is planning on making some
changes this spring, but nothing specific has been discussed. Father
shared information about the Dismas House. They are looking for
organizations to cook and serve meals on a regular basis. Information will
be put in the bulletin to see if there is interest in getting a group together
to serve once a month. The CYC will be serving coffee and... after the
Thanksgiving mass. The Anna Maria Christmas Concert will be held on
December 1st.

6.        Temporal Administrator: Deacon Joe was not present, but Father
gave information. The owner of Emerald Painting has made a gift of his
talents to the church. He will assess our needs and do some work. There
may be a collection after Christmas to help pay for the front doors of the
church. The doors are too old to find replacement parts, so they need to
be replaced. The boilers are working ok, but would it make sense to
invest in new boilers to save money on fuel?

7.        Old Business: New parish council members are needed. Also, a
representative from each of the ministries should attend the meetings
which are usually held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
Because of the visiting members of the Pastoral Planning Board, the
meeting will be held Monday, December 3rd.

sponsoring the Italian Dinner Dance with other ministries. It is open to
everyone in the parish, not just Knights. It will be a catered sit down
dinner on January 26th. Rob Campbell will cater, and there will be a DJ.
The Knights will consider sponsoring the creation of a booklet to highlight
the different ministries at Christ the King. At our next meeting, we will
discuss the ministries to include in the booklet, which will be the first step
toward stewardship.

The meeting was concluded with a prayer by Father Foley, followed by the
Hail Mary recited by all members.  The next meeting will be December 3rd
at 7:30 p.m. All parish organizations should send a representative to the
meeting.

New members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please see Father
Foley.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Johnson
Parish Council Secretary
