MINUTES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
October 02, 2007
1.        Meeting called to order by Anita Fenton
2.        Father Foley opened the meeting with a prayer and members joined him in the Lord’s
Prayer. Minutes were approved from the last meeting, and then members read the Mission
Statement.
3.        Present: Father Foley, Anita Fenton, Paul Franco, Janet Rauktis, Margaret Abboud,
Chris McSherry, Kathy Lauring, Deacon Joe, and Kathy Johnson
4.        Financial Report: Weekly donations have been low the past three weeks. Members of
the Finance Committee will be speaking at masses soon to share the financial report. They
will thank everyone for the weekly support and will stress the importance of the increased
giving many parishioners have been giving. Father Foley will look into online giving.
5.        Additional Business The Sacramental/ Spiritual Questionnaire has been on the
church website. Margaret will collate all the information received and will submit the
information to Father Foley for any additions. It will then be given to Anita, who will scan the
results and again post the information on the website. Everyone is welcome to download
the information, add any new information, and send it to Father Foley. However, all
information must be received by October 14th.
6.        Temporal Administrator: There is a need for painting the foyer of the church, painting
the outside of the rectory. There is tree work to be done as well as some work to be done
in the back of the church.
7.        Old Business: New parish council members are needed. Also, a representative from
each of the ministries should attend the meetings which are usually held on the first
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Because of Election Day, November’s meeting will be
held on the second Tuesday.
8.        New Business Safety Training will be held in the Johnson Room on October 11th at 9:
30-10:30 a.m. and again at 7:00-8:00 p.m. Anyone who works with children in the parish must
attend this training. There are five new altar servers and two more are coming on soon.

Ministry Reports

9.        Social Committee  Janet The Parish Picnic was a success. It was a beautiful day and
everyone who attended had a great time. The event cleared about $1000. The Italian dinner
will be held on November 3rd. The Scouts will be asked to help set up. The Senior
Luncheon will be held on October 27th, which is sponsored by the Men’s Club and the CYC
along with the Social Committee.
10.        CCD No Report
11.        CYC Chris  There will be a Scavenger Hunt on October 13th and a Semi-semi dance
on the 27th at 7:00 for CYC members. The CYC is sponsoring the acappella singing groups
from Tufts and Holy Cross on October 20th at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to this and tickets are
only $5.00.
12.        Women’s Guild Kathy L. The Living Rosary will be held on October 21st at 6:30 p.m. It
is hoped that at least 70 people will attend so that each bead is represented by a different
person. The people who take part will be seated in a circle, and a candle will be passed
around. When you have the candle, you will say the prayer aloud, which is written in the
program. Dennis will provide music. After the rosary, light refreshments will be served.
Please consider attending this beautiful evening. An Evening of Recollection is being
planned for the end of November or early December.
13.        Men’s Club No Report
14.        Post Bereavement Committee Margaret The Committee is sponsoring a talk on
grieving the death of a loved one on October 25th, 7:00-8:30 p.m. There will be a mass said
on November 2nd, All Souls Day, at 6:30 p.m., followed by coffee.

The meeting was concluded with a prayer led by Deacon Joe. The next meeting will be
November 13th at 7:30 p.m. All parish organizations should send a representative to the
meeting.
